Our Story

Where It All Started

Capen Music was founded in 2011 in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling with a clear purpose: to provide the perfect environment for both new and experienced music students. We wanted a place where anyone, regardless of age or background, could walk in and start their music journey.

Over the years, we have taught students ranging from toddlers picking up an instrument for the first time to adults who always meant to learn. We are proud of every one of them.

Today, our academy has 16 fully-equipped private studios and a team of qualified, experienced instructors. We also offer instrument-related services including repairs, piano tuning, restringing and polishing.

Our Team

Taught by Musicians, Not Just Teachers

Before we bring any instructor on board, we make sure they have the necessary qualifications to teach. But qualifications alone are not enough.

Every teacher at Capen Music also brings real experience from the world of music performance. Our team includes local band artists, philharmonic orchestra members and soloists. That means students do not only learn the technical parts of music. They get to hear and learn from people who are actively involved in real performances.

16 Equipped Studios

Each studio is acoustically treated and fitted with quality instruments and sound systems, so every lesson is focused and uninterrupted.
Recital Hall for Performances

A dedicated recital hall for student performances, exams and recitals. A real stage experience for students at every level.
Sound Systems to Play Along

Studios are equipped with in-room sound systems so students can play along to backing tracks and recordings as part of their lessons.
Retail — Instruments and Accessories

Pick up instruments, strings, books and accessories on-site. No need to travel elsewhere when you need something for your next lesson.

Accreditation

Internationally Recognised Qualifications

Our lessons are structured to align with the syllabuses of ABRSM, Rockschool and Trinity UK. As a registered centre with ABRSM and Rockschool, students have complete access to all exam board services through us.

We carry a full range of ABRSM and Rockschool syllabuses, and our instructors are qualified and experienced in preparing students for these exams. When you are ready to sit for an exam, we will guide you through the registration process step by step.

We are proud to be one of the very few Rockschool Examination Centres (REC) in Malaysia, and the only one in Sri Petaling.
